Parque Kennedy. Miraflores, Lima

Parque Central and Parque Kennedy are basically one park right in the center of Miraflores. It starts at the roundabout in the heart of Miraflores and is bordered by Av. Larco and Av. Diagonal.

It is a beautiful place to stop for a few minutes if you have been walking a lot, Many people stop here for lunch or a little break. You will find the most popular hamburger restaurants and coffee bars close by. Art exhibitions are often on display and there may be a musician or two to entertain you.

If you are travelling on a tight budget and staying around Miraflores, you will find yourself ending up in this park more than once.

El parque de amor, or Love Park, is filled with beautiful plants and partly surrounded by mosaic walls with romantic quotes. In the middle of the park is this monumental sculpture of two lovers embracing each other. It depicts the sculptor himself, Victor Delfín, and his wife kissing. It is one of the nicest parks in Lima with a wonderful view over the ocean.

Mercado de Surquillo is a popular and traditional neighborhood market. It is one of the best places to find a variety of fruits and vegetables at affordable prices. If you are on a budget it is also a cheap place to get a quick meal. It is also a good place for low price clothes, but don’t expect to find something out of the ordinary.

If you are in the center of Miraflores, you can easily walk here by using the pedestrian bridge over the Via Expresa highway.
